Fresh Mint and Berry Smoothie

Summertime means many things in the produce world. To us, it means berries. Whether you pick your own berries, or buy cartons of them at a time, we bet that you make at least a few smoothies a summer. Our fresh mint and berry smoothie is a new favorite around here, and we bet that it will become one of yours too!

Here at Mary Lee Kitchen, we like adding in a few extra ingredients to keep things interesting (and healthy!) without changing the flavor too much. This fresh mint and berry smoothie tastes like it has all of four ingredients–three of them berries– but actually packs a bigger punch with greens for additional vitamins, flax for healthy oils, and chia for hydration. Add in a little honey for natural sweetness, and a winning smoothie combination is born.

Even better? If you are making them at home, smoothies are one of the simplest things to make allergy friendly. Stick to in season or fresh fruit and other whole ingredients and you won’t spend any extra time reading labels, worrying, or wondering if it will make you (or a loved one) sick.
